Marjorie Catharine Collison, 89, Onawa, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 27, 1997, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Whiting following a long illness.

Mrs. Collison was born March 4, 1908, at Coleridge, Nebraska, the daughter of Fred C. and Inez (Cisney) Gibson. She married James Collison on June 26, 1929, at Cherokee, Iowa. Mr. Collison died February 27, 1988, at Onawa. She was employed as a sales clerk at Jones Electric and Sporting Store, Taylor's Department Store, and the Skoormos Store all in Onawa and worked at the Dairy Queen and in the dietary services at Burgess Memorial Hospital. She had lived in Whiting, Iowa, and in Colorado for a short time as well as in Onawa.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Onawa, the Rebekah Lodge, and the Past Noble Grand, a former member of Queen Esther Chapter #222, Order of Eastern Star, and past worthy matron. She was the church Sunday School treasurer for 50 years.

Survivors include her son, Donald and his wife, Jo of Onawa; one granddaughter, Jeri and her husband, Jeff Hendershot at Blencoe; one grandson Chuck Collison and (special friend, Misty Chandler of Sioux City; two great grandchildren, Joni and Austin; two sisters, Eunice Stoneberg and her husband, Carroll of Odebolt and Nina Petersen of Lake View; and three brothers, Keith and his wife, Ellen Gibson of Onawa, Floyd Gibson of Lake View and Eugene and his wife Anita Gibson of Odeboldt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Berniece Brown, and Arline King, and two brothers, Wilfred and James Gibson.

Services were held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 30, 1997, at the First Christian Church in Onawa with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick officiating. The organist was Mrs. Vince Phillips. Mrs. Fred Gibson sang "Just a Closer. Walk With Thee" and "Finally Home". Mr. Donald Collison sang "Family of God". Rhonda Burbridge read a poem.

Casket Bearers were Chuck Collison, Steve I Burbridge, Dan Moss, Bill Heggna, Jeff Hendershot, and Jack Morgan.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Home, Onawa, Iowa.

An Eastern Star Service was held at 7:30 PM Thursday, May 29, at the Pearson Funeral Home, conducted by Queen Esther Chapter #222 of Onawa, Margaret Maule, Worthy Matron and James Alexander, Worthy Patron.
