ONAWA, Iowa — Bernard L. Murdock, 77, of Onawa died Saturday, June 21, 1997 at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa following a long illness.

Graveside services, with military rites by the Monona County Veterans of Foreign Wars #2694, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Onawa City Cemetery with the Rev. Earle R. Potts officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mr. Murdock was born Feb. 21, 1920, the son of Albert A. and Myra C. (Knott) Murdock. He attended Ranch Country School and Little Sioux High School.

He served in the Army during World War II.
He married Dorothy Wyatt on Aug. 2, 1941, in Dakota City, Neb. The couple farmed in the Rodney, Iowa area before moving to Onawa in 1980.

He was a member of the Monona County V.F.W. post #2694.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters and their husbands, Elsie and Neil Baker, and Carol Ann and Al Porter, all of Emerson, Neb.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Kenneth and Harold of Onawa; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his, parents; and two brothers, Chester and Noal.
