27 August 2014DonnaRee Davis, 87, of Onawa, Iowa died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Le Mars, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 22, 2014 at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Mike Hulinsky, officiating. Burial will be in Heisler Cemetery, rural Mapleton, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 21, 2014 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
DonnaRee Fern was born February 17, 1927 in Danbury, Iowa the daughter of Ralph and Grace (Rogge) Bush. Growing up she attended country schools, three years at Oto Community School, Oto, Iowa, and graduated from Soldier High School, Soldier, Iowa.
Donna and Donald Duane Davis were united in marriage on February 18, 1947 in Denison, Iowa. Four children were born to this union, Ralph, Donald, Donna, and Ricky. Her husband, Donald Duane passed away May 4, 1999 at Castana, Iowa.
Donna loved raising her children as mother and housewife, and also did babysitting for other children. She cooked at the Castana School in Castana, Iowa for three years.
Donna enjoyed embroidery, reading, watching television, dancing, bird watching, whistling, and singing.
Donna was a member of the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, and the Le Mars Bible Church, Le Mars, Iowa.
Survivors include her children, Donald (Mary) Davis of Sioux City, Iowa, Donna (Jim) Roycraft of Joplin, Missouri, and Ricky (Claudia) Davis of Remsen, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Brandy Gray, Erin (Jesse) Padilla, Stacy (Carl) Bowers, Sean Roycraft, Kevin (Robyn) Davis, Kathleen (Shane) Brevik, Chris (Michelle) Mason, and Andy (Jennifer) Grabau; eighteen great-grandchildren, Melia, Marina, Brittany, Seth, Breyanna, Devin, Taya, Jasmine, Savannah, Cooper, Ian, Connor, Bryan, Tessa, Raven, Daniel, Madison, and Easton; two sisters, Bethel (Ronnie) Lamb of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Marcia (Dominic) Sangimino of Bellevue, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Grace Bush; husband, Donald Duane Davis; son, Ralph Davis; granddaughter, Abby Davis; infant sister, Delores Bush; and sister and brother-in-law, Carol (Eldo) Paulsen.
