Onawa, Iowa--KJ "Bus" Beedle, 74, of Onawa died Sunday, October 5, 1997, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, with Jim Epperson and Greg Haffer officiating. Burial will be in Onawa City Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Monona County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2694. Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Beedle was born November 21, 1922, in Onawa, the son of James E. and Anna (Miller) Beedle. He graduated from Onawa High School in 1941. He served in the US Army during World War II.

He married Jean Dunham on June 2, 1946, in Onawa. She died July 14, 1982, in Onawa. He was a farmer in the area. He married Joyce (Wintjen) Bonine on March 8, 1985, in Onawa.

He was a member of First Christian Church, the American Legion David McNeill Post 129, the Eagles Lodge and served as the Onawa fire chief for several years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Pam and Jim Epperson of Monmouth, Ill. and Deb and Greg Haffer of Joplin, Mo.; a son, Dennis of McNabb, Ill.; two sisters, Mildred Beedle and Pearl Reed, both of Onawa; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepsons and their wives, Max and Evie Bonine and Doug and Vicki Bonine, all of Onawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank , and a sister, Margaret.
