Onawa, Iowa--John W. Fors, 67, of Onawa died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, in Providence, RI.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 1997 at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa. Burial was in Onawa City Cemetery.

Mr. Fors was born December 27, 1929, in Onawa, the son of Edward A. and Mary E. (Selby) Fors. He attended Onawa High School. In 1978, he moved to California, where he lived in the Fremont and San Jose areas. He married Tina "Fatima" Amaral on Sept. 23, 1989, in Campbell, Calif.

While living in Onawa, he was employed with Onawa Propane. Empire Gas Company, and Monona County. He was employed as a draftsman at a heating and air conditioning company in California, retiring in 1992. They moved back to Onawa in 1996.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Onawa, the Elks Club in California and the Onawa Eagles Club.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kelly and her husband Bob Solo and Pat Stebbins, all of Onawa, and Julie and her husband Ted Chamberland of Seattle, Wash.: a stepson and his wife, Chuck and Sally Silva of San Jose, Calif.; a step daughter, Anna Silva of Sacramento, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister and her husband, Phyllis and Bernard Farber of Onawa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two son, Robert John and Robert Carl; and a daughter, Susan Fors.
