Bessie "Bea" Morgan, 96, of Sioux City died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Onawa City Cemetery, with the Rev. A.T. Washington officiating. There will be no visitation. Nelson-Berger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Morgan was born Dec. 8, 1900, in Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Scott) Tripp Jr. She married Harry L. Morgan on June 7, 1923, in Sioux City. He died April 17, 1974.

She was a member of First Methodist Church and a past worthy matron of Rose Croix Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in many organizations.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Gordon Ellis of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Julie Anne Kurtz; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Raymond; and a sister, Leora Nelson.
