Elsie L. Anderson, 76, of Blencoe, Iowa, died Saturday, May 15, 1999, at the Walker Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Elsie was born on August 5, 1922, at Bismarck, North Dakota, the daughter of Tom and Laura (Christensen) Mohn. She moved to Moorhead, Iowa, as a child and attended country school at Moorhead. On December 22, 1945, she married Donald Abram Anderson at Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple farmed in the Blencoe and Onawa area. Mr. Anderson died March 14, 1984, at Blencoe.

She was baptized in the Moorhead Lutheran Church and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Onawa.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Donna Anderson of Sioux City, Iowa; 2 sons and their wives, David and Beverly Anderson of Blencoe, Iowa, and Terry and Denise Anderson of Waukee, Iowa; 4 grandsons, Jon Anderson and his wife, Wanda, Chuck Anderson, Donnie Anderson, and Kenny Anderson; 1 sister, Alice McClure Murphy of Blencoe, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 son, John; and 3 brothers, Don, Harold and Clarence Mohn.

Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick and Rev. Philip Olsen officiating. The organist, Mrs. Irvin Frisk, played the selections, "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross". The Recessional was "When The Saints Go Marching In".

Casket Bearers were Frank Raymond, Jeff McClure, Larry Ruffcorn, Gene Gochenour, Earl Thelander, and Russell Stanislav.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
