ONAWA, Iowa — Helen Marguerite Mustard Beedle, 93, of Onawa died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Elmwood Care Center in Onawa. Services will be at 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, with the Rev. Dennis Mix officiating. Burial will be in the Onawa City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beedle was born on July 7, 1905, at Onawa, the daughter of James Franklin and Nellie Blanche (Deane) Mustard. She graduated from Onawa High School in 1924 and taught in several country
schools.

She married Harry Beedle on Sept. 19, 1925. The couple farmed in the Onawa area until his death on May 2, 1960. She then moved into Onawa and was employed with the Onawa Sentinel newspaper.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Onawa. She was also a member of the Women's Relief Corps, and a past member of the Iowa Teachers Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Anderson of Onawa; a sister, Aurilla Mustard of Onawa; two brothers: Maurice Mustard of Onawa, and Lester Deane Mustard of Lake Almanor, Calif.; four grandchildren: Rod Cutler, Julie Brandt, Reva Bily, and Cindy Hammer; two step-grandchildren: Claudia Smith and Connie Dehmlow; six great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Linda.
