Arthur "Red" Orr, 86, of Onawa, Iowa, died Saturday, June 12, 1999, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Mr. Orr was born March 22, 1913, at Onawa, the son of Robert and Stella (Carnes) Orr Sr. He was raised on the family farm west of Onawa. He married Hester Violet Jester on December 5, 1935; at Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple lived on the family farm following their marriage. He enjoyed the values of farming, gardening and animals. Mrs. Orr died August 23, 1993, at Onawa.

He is survived by two daughters, Vicky Orr of Onawa and Jolene Orr of Red Bank, New Jersey; two granddaughters, Keri and her husband Michael Gramm of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Keli Mason and her fiancé, Alec Siegel, of Philadelphia, Pa., and a grandson, Michael Mason of Los Angeles, Calif.; two great-granddaughters, Eden Gramm and Olivia Mason; one brother, Thomas Orr of Reno, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers James and Robert Jr. and one sister Eunice.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at the First Congregational UCC at Onawa with Pastor John Noer officiating. The organist, Mrs. Mark Mussack, accompanied the soloist, Mr. Michael Gramm, in the selections "Amazing Grace" and "Take Me Home Country Road". The congregation sang "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee". A Tribute to Granpa was given by Keli Mason.

Casket Bearers were Alec Siegel, Michael Gramm, Roger Lund, Larry. Framke, Charles Framke and Tony Orr.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
