MAPLETON, Iowa — Victoria "Dora" Heisler, 96, of Mapleton died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. said by the St. Mary's Guild and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton.

Mrs. Heisler was born May 5, 1902, near Mapleton, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Kenkel) Flammang. She attended Cooper Township Country School and St. Mary's Grade School in Mapleton.

She married John W. Heisler on May 26, 1925, in Mapleton. The couple lived in rural Mapleton for several years and later moved into Mapleton. They owned and operated a produce business, Heisler Produce. He died Dec. 3, 1989.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Agnes and Wilbur McNear of Mapleton and Annabelle and Dean Nutt of Kingman, Ariz.; a son and his wife, Jim and Jean of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Helen Heisler of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Louise Flammang of Battle Creek, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Marion in infancy and John R. "Jack"; eight sisters; and six
brother's.
