MAPLETON, Iowa — Mary Kee, 87, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998 at the Morningside Care Center in Ida Grove.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mapleton.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the rosary recited by St. Mary's Guild at 3:30 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kee was born Jan. 27, 1911 at Mapleton, Iowa the daughter of John and Josephine (Gaul) Koenigs. She grew up and was educated in Mapleton, graduating with the Mapleton High School class of 1929. She taught school in the area for a number of years.

She married Gus Stark in 1939. He died in December 1943.

She married Ardell Kee on Nov. 29, 1947. He died Aug. 3, 1954.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton along with St. Mary's Guild. She was employed by the Ben Franklin Store in Mapleton for many years. She was a former owner and operator of a dress shop in Mapleton. She entered the care center in Ida Grove in 1993.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Patrick and Francie Kee of Ida Grove; two granddaughters, Brooke and her husband David Mehaffey of Kentucky and Alexis of Chicago; one great-grandson, McClain; two sisters, Clara Conyers of Mapleton and Rose Urquhart of Calif.; two brothers and their wives, Paul and Betty of Mapleton and Raymond and Lorraine of Pella, Iowa; one stepdaughter, LaVetta Collins of Sioux City; and one stepson, Verlin Stark of Alaska.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ilona, two sisters, one brother and one step son.
