MAPLETON, Iowa — Velma Kluver, 82, of Mapleton died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, at the Whiting Nursing Home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Mapleton, with Steve Jewett officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.
Mrs. Kluver was born Nov. 28, 1914, near Mapleton, the daughter of Cornelius and Anna (Passick) Clausen. She married Henry Kluver Jr. on April 4, 1934, near Mapleton. The couple farmed north east of Mapleton. In 1945, they moved into Mapleton. He died Jan. 3, 1992.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship of the church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and his wife, Valerie of Denver, Colo. and Gene of Adelaide, Australia; two daughters, Janice Peter of Little Rock, Ark. and Linda and her husband Jack Cory of Smithland, Iowa; a sister, Phyllis Gardner of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walt and infant brother Marvin; and a sister, Viola Nourse.
