MAPLETON, Iowa - Margaret Langholz, 93, of Mapleton died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997, in Denver, Colo.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Mapleton, with the Rev. Linda Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton.

Mrs. Langholz was born Aug. 24, 1904, in Sutherland, Iowa, the daughter of Friedrich and Sophie (Laue) Bockhop. She attended country school and graduated from Gaza High School. She attended business school in Sioux City for one year.

She married Harry H. Langholz on Feb. 12, 1929, in Paullina, Iowa. In 1947, the couple started the Mapleton Greenhouse. He died March 2, 1980. She continued with the business until retiring in January 1996. She moved to Denver and entered the Heritage Club.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Mapleton Club.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Phyllis and Gordon Stone of Denver; a son and his wife, Robert and Patricia of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Evelyn Knuth of Mapleton; a brother and his wife, Clarence and Virginia Bockhop of Lindale, Texas; five grandchildren, Matthew and Bradley Stone, Robert Jr., Laurence and Kristofer Langholz and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene, in infancy and Amanda Langholz.
