MAPLETON, Iowa — Everett Rhode, 84, of Mapleton died Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Mapleton, with the Rev. Linda Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Armstrong funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mr. Rhode was born Feb. 13, 1913, near Mapleton, the son of Frank Fred and Amelia Louise (Wiese) Rhode. He farmed and lived on a Century farm near Mapleton.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and a township trustee for many years.

Survivors include a sister, Irene Rhode of Mapleton and many cousins.

Pallbearers will be Floyd Mauch Jr., Dick, Ronnie and Dave Schleis, Larry Jessen, and Bob Otto.
