MAPLETON, Iowa — Irene Fern Goodall Cleveland, 77, of Kingman, Ariz., formerly of Mapleton, died Friday, April 23, 1999, in Kingman.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Shirley Textor officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, near Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.
Mrs. Cleveland was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Smithland, Iowa, the daughter of John and Marvel (Anderson) Junk. She was raised in Coleridge, Neb., and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1938.
She married Kenneth Goodall on Nov. 8, 1941, in Denison, Iowa. The couple began farming in the Mapleton area in 1945. In 1984, they moved into Mapleton. He died Dec. 26, 1985.
She married Everett Cleveland on Jan. 11, 1989, in Chatsworth, Calif. The couple moved to Kingman in 1990.
She was a member of St. John's United Methodist church and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Roger and Joni Goodall of Oxnard, Calif., and Raymond and Virginia Goodall of Walker, Iowa; three daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Mark Dimig of Sacramento, Calif., Janet and Jack Braton of Kansas City, Mo., and JoAnn and Del Twidt of Fountain City, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth and her husband, Verland Barber, of Platte Ceenter, Neb., Pearla Benjamin and Betty and her husband, LeRoy Etchenkamp, all of Wayne, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys and Aletha; and two brothers, Dale and Don.
