31 July 2014Jane Elizabeth Meyer died July 22 in German Town. She was born Aug. 18, 1929, at Mapleton, one of 13 children born to John and Augusta (Dadt) Hinrickson. She grew up and was educated in the Mapleton area.
In 1944, she married Wallace Kelsheimer at Sioux City. They had two daughters, Janet and Janie. The family first lived at Mapleton and later moved south of Anthon. Wallace passed away in 1967. Jane continued to live in the Anthon area and married Emil Meyer. She later lived in the Correctionville and Quimby areas and last moved to German Town near Paullina, where she lived contently until her death July 22.
Jane’s passion was breeding, raising, and selling Boston Terriers. She also loved the flowers and the garden she grew. She was a fan of the old time country western music and reading western books. She was known to be strong willed about the decisions in her life, a trait that kept her independent for the most part.
