25 February 1988George A. Quigle, 95, of Turin, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 17, 1988, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, after a long illness.
He was born February 12, 1893, at Wray, Colorado, to George D. and Susan C. (Taylor) Quigley. He came to the Turin area with his family as a young boy. On August 1, 1916, he married Nettie Durr in Dakota City, Nebraska. The couple made their home in the Turin and Castana area. She died December 20, 1967, in Onawa. He retired from farming in 1981.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Turin and was an active member of the church until his health failed.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Susan A.) Smith and Mrs. Bud (Ethel Jane) Nelson, both of Turin; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, seven sisters and brothers.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 1988, at the United Methodist Church in Turin with Rev. David Wagner officiating. Mrs. Jack Jordan, the organist, played "Sweetly Resting" and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus".
Bearers were Ernest Shupe Richard Madsen, Randy Madsen, Gerald Davis, Harvey Hansen and Floyd Dausel.
Interment was in Belvidere Cemetery at Turin with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa
