24 March 1964SOLDIER, Ia. — Special: Funeral services for Adolph Melby, 81, who died Sunday of a heart attack at his home in Dunlap, Ia., will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the Lutheran church at Soldier. Rev. Harry Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be the church cemetery at Soldier Pearson funeral home of Soldier.
Pearson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Melby was born at Soldier, Ia., November 27, 1882. He married Lena Evenson August 30, 1906, at Onawa, Ia. He farmed near Soldier until 8 months ago when he moved to Dunlap.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Richie Andrews of Moorhead, Ia., Mrs. Gilma Burson of Council Bluffs, Ia., Mrs. Claude Price of Sioux City and Mrs. Earl Weber and Mrs. Leo Hull, both of Dunlap; five sons, Kenneth, Arnold and Willard all of Dunlap, and Leonard of Moorhead and Dale of Woodbine, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Evenson and Mrs. Oscar Wingate, both of Soldier; a brother, John Melby of Soldier, 41 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
