Harry Melby

Funeral services were held a 1l a. m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at Soldier Lutheran Church for Harry C. Melby, 49, of Roselle, N. J. Pastor I. J. Lovseth of Moorhead officiated.

Mrs. Bernard Berens was soloist and Mrs. Harry Andersen was at the organ.

Interment was in Soldier Valley Cemetery at Soldier under the direction of Beem and Belford funeral home of Co. Bluffs.

Full military rites were given at the cemetery by members of Soldier Legion Post. Pallbearers were Arnold, Leonard and Milton Melby, Harlow Wingate, Martin Evenson and Russell Engebretson.

Harry passed away suddenly in Roselle. He had been ill for a long time.

Harry was born at Moorhead, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Melby. He married Celia Dixon and 17 years ago they moved to Roselle.

He was an Army veteran of World War II in the Pacific theater and was seriously wounded. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kenilworth, N. J. and Elizabeth Chapter of Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving besides the widow, is one daughter, Alice, of Orange, N. J., one sister, Mrs. Ella Schlensig of Soldier, and five brothers Raymond, Earl, Robert, Clark, Norman and Wilbur.
