NORMAN TRYGVE MELBY

Normam Trygve; 53, Soldier, Iowa, passed away August 19, 1983, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born May 9, 1930 at Moorhead, Iowa, to Oscar and Christina Lundberg Melby. On September 2, 1950, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Outhouse at Onawa, Iowa. They lived in Woodbine for seven years before moving to a farm near Soldier where they have lived since. He was a member of the Lutheran Church at Soldier, Iowa. He was a DeKalb Seed Corn dealer for seventeen years.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; three daughters, Leona Johnson, Yankton, S.D.; Mrs. Jim (Laura) Seaton, Denison, Ia.; and Mrs.Joe(Cindy) Lee, Soldier, Ia.; four brothers, Raymond of LeMars, Earl of Moorhead, Clark of Dunlap, and Wilbur of Pisgah; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Ella) Schlensig, Soldier; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harry and Robert and one sister, Olga.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 1983, at the Soldier Lutheran Church at Soldier with Rev. Luther Flugstad officiating. The organist, Mrs. Ivan Gibbs, accompanied the Men's Quartet who sang, "How Great Thou Art". Mrs. Gibbs played the selection, "Amazing Grace".

Bearers were Maynard Melby, Rick Melby, Vernon Melby, Clarion Melby, Randy Melby and Dennis Melby.

Interment was in the Soldier Lutheran Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Soldier, Iowa.
