16 May 1983MAPLETON, Iowa — Rose L. Meier, 84, of Mapleton died Saturday in a nursing home in Onawa.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton. Monsignor A.W. Behrens will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.
Mrs. Meier, the former Rose Waack, was born Dec. 19, 1898, at Ida Grove. She was raised in the Ida Grove community.
She married Matthew Meier Jan. 29, 1952, at Elk Point, S.D. She was a telephone operator in Quimby, and Ida, Woodbury and Monona counties, moving to Mapleton in 1964. They entered the nursing home in January of 1983.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, American Legion Auxiliary, Loran Hollister Post 496, and the Senior Citizens Group.
Survivors include her husband.
