Edward Ervin Meeker, son of Mary E. and Benjamin F. Meeker was born September 16, 1907 in Monona County, Iowa, and passed from this life at Deming, New Mexico on Friday, November 24. Death came at the age of 54 years, two months and eight days.

Mr. Meeker was a skilled mechanic; he had been at Deming about a month and prior to that time had been in Arizona for about two years. He had been away from Onawa for the past eight years.

On June 20, 1928 he was united in marriage with Viola Adams at Onawa. To that union four sons and two daughters were born: Leo Meeker, now of Las Vegas, Nevada; Cleo of Stockton, Calif.; Darrell of Manteca, Calif.; and Doyle of Onawa; Mrs. Wanda Hanks of Manteca, Calif. and Mrs. Ramona Woods of Tucson, Ariz.

On February 18, 1935 he accepted the Christ as his Savior and was baptized in His name becoming a member of the Pentecostal Church of Onawa.

On August 11, 1953 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Fletcher as Los Angeles, Calif., she survives him.

Besides his children, he is survived by 14 grandchildren; a brother Clifford Meeker of Per-Oita, and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Bowman of South Sioux City, Nebr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 1 at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Rev. Everett Epperson conducted the service.

Mrs. Gene Carlson and Mrs. Gordon Rock sang "This World is not my Home" and "Do You Know My Jesus," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Oliver Kelley.

The casket bearers were Franklin and Bud Adams, Farnarn. Kinney, Benjamin Martin, Paul Jester and Gordon Rock.

Interment was in the Little Sioux Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
