MAPLETON, Iowa — Mrs. Adolph Means, 87, of Mapleton died Monday, at a nursing home here.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John United Methodist Church. The Rev. Louis Aitken will officiate. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery in Castana under direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton.

Mrs. Means, the former Blanche Mary Ellen Lee, was born Oct. 8, 1893, in Kingsley. She came with her parents to the Castana community.

She was married Sept. 16, 1919, in Sioux City. They farmed in the Castana and Mapleton communities. Mr. Means died Aug. 17, 1965. After his death, she made her home with her daughter in rural Mapleton. She had lived at Maple Heights Nursing Home for the last 1 1/2 years.

She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Royal Neighbors and past member of Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Marjorie) Bueoy of Mapleton; a granddaughter, and a sister, Mrs. Lela Nelson of Castana.
