Charles Erlandson, Jr.,66, Castana, Iowa died Friday, January 10, 1997, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Mr. Erlandson was born May 12,1930, at Onawa, Iowa, the son of Charles and Winifred (Harris) Erlandson. He graduated from Onawa High School. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Marines. On November 26, 1958, he married Glenda Graybill at the First Christian Church in Onawa.

He lived in Omaha for 30 years where he was a civilian groundskeeper at Offutt Air Force Base, retiring in 1989. He had lived in the Onawa area for 36 years.

He was affiliated with the Castana Community Church. He was a member of the Hillcrest Lodge A.F. & A.M. #648 and the Grimsiey-Thayer American Legion Post #502, both of Castana, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5605 at Ute, Iowa, and the Sioux City Scottish Rite Bodies.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mali and her husband, Bo Fox, of Turin, Iowa, and Summer Erlandson of Ute, Iowa: 1 son, Eric and his wife, Kelly Erlandson of Lincoln, Nebraska; 1 brother and his wife, Dean and Virginia Erlandson of Onawa, Iowa; and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 14, 1997, at the Castana Community Church, Castana, Iowa, with Linda Boggs, Pastor, officiating. The organist was Mrs. Paul Petersen and the congregation sang the selections, "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace".

Casket Bearers were Ed Miller, Gilbert Gotto, Ralph Wickersham, Jr., Carl Lamb, Lloyd Richards, and Tom Struble.

Interment was in the Kennebec Cemetery, Castana, Iowa, with Military Graveside Services by U.S. Marine Corps I & I, Omaha, Nebraska.

Arrangements were by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa. Iowa.
