Elizabeth C. Rohde 89, died October 28, 1998 at Onawa, Iowa.

Elizabeth Consuella Rohde was born July 4, 1909 the daughter of Charles and Nancy (Warren) Cutter at Castana, Iowa. She moved to Montana with her parents and then returned to Castana in 1917. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton. She graduated from Castana High School in 1926.

Elizabeth married Adolf E. Rohde of Mapleton on November 21, 1928. Mr. Rohde passed away August 20, 1968. She lived in the Mapleton, Castana, and Smithland areas most of her life. She has lived in Onawa for the past nine years.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Carolyn Docken of Onawa, Iowa, and Nancy Bainbridge and her husband Jack of Smithland, Iowa; one son-in-law, Duane Peterson of South Sioux City, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren along with other relatives, neighbors, and good friends.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, Gloria Gae Peterson, four sisters, one brother, and one son-in-law, Lewis Docken.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 31, 1998, 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Mapleton, Iowa with Rev. Daniel Torkelson officiating. The organist was Norma Jean Dose and the Soloist, Sharon Kruse sang the following selections, "Rock of Ages" and "Just a Closer Walk".

Honorary Pallbearers were Gary Rohde, Richard Reed, Edgar Rossow, Kenneth Daniels, Paul Reed, Elvin Ketelsin.

Pallbearers were Roger Bainbridge, Lewis Docken, Duane Peterson, John Bainbridge, Darwin Peterson, and Tom Peterson.

A prayer service was held Friday, October 30, 1998, 7:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Chapel, Mapleton, Iowa.

Interment was in the Kennebec Cemetery, Castana, Iowa. Arrangements were made by Armstrong Funeral Service.
