CASTANA, Iowa — Dale L. Knoff, 73, of rural Castana died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at his residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at United Methodist Church in Turin, Iowa, with the Rev. David H. Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery in rural Turin. The Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa is handling arrangements.

Mr. Knoff was born Feb. 10, 1924, in Moorhead, Iowa, the son of John 0. and Ellen K. (Carlson) Knoff. He attended country schools and the school in Turin.

He married Marlene Lundeen oh May 29, 1952, in Ticonic, Iowa. The couple resided for 41 years in rural Castana.

He was employed by the ASCS for 17 years and the SCS for three years. He worked for Monona County as a heavy equipment operator for 12 years and also farmed.

He enjoyed sports, cattle sales, farming, the out of doors, and visiting with his friends and family.

He was affiliated with United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Kevin and Tresa of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three daughters and their husbands, Karlyn and Tom Peterson of Sioux Falls, Ronda and Terry Trube of Canton, S.D., and Brenda and Roger Nemitz of Charter Oak, Iowa; six grandchildren, Amber Peterson, Austin and Abraham Knoff, Ethan and Grace Trube, and Bethany Nemitz; two step-grandchildren, Wendy Ping and Holli Trube; a brother, Everett Knoff of Castana; a sister and her husband, Virgie and Donald Davis of Turin; and his parents-in-law, Waldo and Freda Lundeen of Onawa, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Wyma Knoff.
