UTE, Iowa — Donald Herman Kroll, 87, of Asheville, N.C.,formerly of Ute, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Park Ridge Hospital in Asheville following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute, with the Rev. Christopher Barr officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kroll was born Feb. 21, 1911, in Ute, the son of Herman and Lucy (Gerten) Kroll.

He was in business with the Keitges Candy Co. until 1957, when he moved to Tampa, Fla. He managed the Rocky Point Golf Club in Tampa until 1983. In 1985 he moved to Asheville.

He was a member of Foster Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church in Asheville, where he served as deacon and on the church board.

Survivors include his wife, Gladyce (Evenson) Kroll; a daughter and her husband, Lou Anna and
Ronnie Goslar of Ute; a son and his wife, Dr. Larry L. and Dianne of Arden, N.C.; a sister, Pauline Carlisle of Brighton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Foster Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church for the building fund or the Community Service Department, 375 Hendersonville Rd., Asheville, N.C.
