Leo C. Braden, 80, of Sioux City died Saturday, April 11, 1998, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Steward officiating. A private burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery in Ute, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Nelson-Berger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Braden was born Nov. 15, 1917, in Soldier, Iowa, the son of Raymond G. and Olga (Ulven) Braden. He attended school in Soldier. He married Garnet O'Connor Nov. 11, 1935, in Soldier. They lived in Soldier, Ute and Ida Grove, Iowa until her death Nov. 19, 1946. He married Connie Nill on Oct. 29, 1960. The couple resided in Glendale, Calif. until June 1994, when they moved to Sioux City for health reasons.

Survivors include his wife of Manderville, La; a son, George Braden of Atlanta; two daughters and their husbands, Mary (Kurth) and Harry "Duane" Peterson of Sioux City, and Jean and Ed Bryant of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, Loyd and Evelyn Braden of Fairfield Bay, Ark.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, George Raymond Braden II.

Memorials may be given in his name to Hospice of Siouxland.
