UTE, Iowa — Emma D. Buschmann, 96, of Ute died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ute, with the Rev. Edgar Bode officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute.

Mrs. Buschmann was born Feb. 9, 1902, in Rastorf, Germany, the daughter of Henry and Dorothea (Boldt) Steffen. She came to the United States in April 1925 and became a U.S. citizen in September 1944.

She was employed with several families in Ute.
She married Henry Buschmann Sr. on Feb. 19, 1929. The couple farmed until retiring and moving into Ute in 1966. He died Jan. 17, 1989.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking and gardening.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Henry L. and Norma of Ute; a daughter and her husband, Elaine and Don Kemper of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren, Scott Kemper, Candy McCann, Alan„ Terry and Randy Buschmann and Patty Throckmorton; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and grandson, Richard Buschmann.
