ONAWA, Iowa – Mabel E. Meadows, 82, of Onawa died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Steven Hetzel officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery in Ute, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Mrs. Meadows was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Charter Oak, Iowa, the daughter of George and Anna (Neddermeyer) Reimer. She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Charter Oak.

She married Launie Meadows on Jan. 19, 1944, in Tarkio, Mo. The couple farmed and trucked in the Soldier, Iowa, area before moving to Onawa.
She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter and her husband, Twila and Ray Rose of Onawa; five grandchildren, Renee Rose of Kalispell, Mont., Kirk and his wife, Sandy Rose of Onawa, Greg and his wife, Renee Rose of Sioux City, Paula and her husband, Robbie Jensen of Moorhead, Iowa, and Julee and her husband, Danny Pruett of Onawa; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Florence Meadows; and a brother, George Reimer.
