Minnie Meadows 1897 - 1984

Mrs. Minnie Meadows, Onawa, Iowa, died at Elmwood Nursing Home at Onawa on May 21, 1984, following a long illness. Death came at the age of 86 years, four months and 21 days.

She was born at Moorhead, Iowa, on December 30,1897, the daughter of Andrew and Ella Navrude Torgerson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Soldier Lutheran Country Church.

On June 2, 1915, she was married to Edward Meadows at Moorhead.

The couple moved to Onawa in 1945 from Moorhead. Mr. Meadows died on April 23, 1948, at Sioux City. Minnie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church at Onawa.

Survivors include her son, Wilmer (Bill) Meadows of Onawa and two daughters, Mrs. Leona Sweet and Mrs. Robert (Etheleen) Bellis, both of Onawa; ten grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Arthur W. and Everett J., five brothers and two sisters.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 1984, at Faith Lutheran Church at Onawa with Pastor Quentin Quanbeck officiating. Mrs. Syril Brown, the organist, played "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "How Great Thou Art" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus".

Bearers were Launie Meadows, Oscar Foss, Wilbur Phipps, Willis Brink, Clark Ruffcorn and Merlin Lee.

Interment was in Jordan Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
