Mathew Jay Meadows was born July 25, 1984, to Phil and Nancy (Hull) Meadows in Omaha, Nebraska.

He died on Friday, November 7, 2008, as a result of an automobile accident at the age of 24 years, three months, and 13 days. Mat attended East Monona School through junior high and then graduated from Boyer Valley High School in 2002.

Mat mowed lawns and worked for Boyles Hog Confinement. He then worked at the Moorhead Coop and Schenkelberg Implement. On August 27, 2005, Mat married Audrey Lave at the Christian Church in Moorhead. The couple was blessed with two boys, Evan and Ian.

Mat was baptized in and a member of the Moorhead Christian Church. He loved his wife, boys, nieces, and nephews. He helped to take care of the church by mowing the lawn. Mat was also civic minded and was the mayor-in-training. He liked nice cars and to collect farm equipment toys. He loved to wrestle with his boys, give them rides in the hot rod, and take them fishing.

Mat was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo Hull and Cecil and Delores Meadows; and his sister, Kim Nordaker on June 9, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Meadows and two sons, Evan and Ian all of Moorhead, Iowa; parents, Phil and Nancy Meadows of Moorhead, Iowa; sister, Lena (Jeremiah) Terry of Whiting, Iowa; grandmother, Edna Hull of Moorhead, Iowa; parents-in-law, Jim and Sherry Runnels of Humbolt, Nebraska and Frank and Jane Lave; nieces and nephews, Haylee Hanson, Seth and Kassidy Willis, Connor and Cole Nordaker, Emily and Libby Terry; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held 10:30am Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Christian Church in Moorhead, Iowa. Clergy was Rev. Ron Keith. Musicians were Conni Anderson and Sam Johnson -- "I'll Fly Away". Recorded Selections were "When I Get To Where I Am Going" Brad Paisley, "The Dance" Garth Brooks and "You're Still Here" Faith Hill.

Pall Bearers were Nick Moser, Duane Renz, Jon Lee, John Archer, Gabe Pape, Austin Spaulding, Robin Dunlop and Danny Pruett. Final Resting Place at Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead, Iowa.

Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap was in charge of the arrangements.
