FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR ACCIDENT VICTIM

Royce Allen Meadows, son of Allen and Florence (Reimer) Meadows, was born March 25, 1937, at Soldier, Iowa, and died Friday, May 23, 1975, as the result of an automobile accident near Mapleton, Iowa. He had reached the age of 38 years, one month and 28 days.

Mr. Meadows lived at Soldier until moving with his parents to the Ute community in 1949. He graduated from the Ute High School in 1955 and shortly after joined the United States Air Force where he was in active service for six years. While stationed in Japan, he was married to Susan Malkawa on June 6, 1957. She preceded him in death.

For about the last seven years, he resided in Sioux City working as a trucker for the Marx Truck Lines and for the past four years had driven a truck for Terra Chemical Company in Sioux City.

In June, 1970, he married Linda Juelfs at Elk Point, South Dakota.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of Sioux City; two daughters, Marilyn and Linda of Ute; four sons, Allen of Ute, Scott, Brent and Brian of Sioux City; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Meadows of Ute; two brothers, Norman of Ute and Burdette of Missouri Valley, Ia.; and one sister, Mrs. DuWayne (Marilyn) Meseck of Ute.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, 1975, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Ute, Iowa. Pastor Robert Leege officiated and burial was in St. Clair Cemetery at Ute with military rites at graveside by the American Legion Aaby Post 442 of Ute.

Pallbearers were Ward Butcher, Jerry Barnett, Duane Thompson, Matthew "Joe" Longie, David Walsh and Lavern Wessell.
