ONAWA, Iowa — Wilmer "Bill" Meadows, 66, of Onawa died Monday, Aug. 7, 1989, in a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa. Burial will be in the Jordan Township Cemetery, near Soldier with military graveside services conducted by Monona County Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mr. Meadows was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Soldier Township, near Ute, the son of Edward and Minnie (Torgerson) Meadows. He farmed with his family in Jordan Township before serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. He came to Onawa in 1946 where he was employed with Green Gables and Honegger's and later worked at O'Neill's Tavern.

Mr. Meadows was a Lutheran.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Etheleen Bellis and Mrs. Leona Sweet, both of Onawa, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arthur and Everett.
