Dolores Irene Meadows the daughter of Archie and Lena Dickinson Nelson was born December 12, 1913 at Soldier, Iowa. She lived her entire life in the Soldier and Ute communities. She was married to Cecil Meadows at Dakota City, Nebraska on February 18, 1932. To this union one daughter and 5 sons were born. She was baptized at the Soldier Lutheran Church on June 7, 1914, and was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Ute on May 24, 1959.

She has been a member at St Pauls in Ute since that time. Having been in ill health since 1974, she had resided at the Maple Heights nursing home at Mapleton since that time. Mrs. Meadows departed this life on Thursday. July 19th at the Denison hospital having reached the age of 65 years 7 months and 7 days.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil of Ute, one daughter, Mrs. James (Kay) Gregerson of Ute, 5 sons: Ronald and Kenneth both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Timothy of Whiting, Denis, Tuscon, Arizona and Philip of Moorhead. 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, one brother Omar (Billy) Nelson of Soldier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 1 brother and 2 grandchildren.

Dolores was laid to rest in the St. Clair Cemetery at Ute the 23rd day of July 1979.

Services were at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Ute, 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 23, 1979. Rev. Robert Leege officiating. Mrs. Lynette Thies organist accompanied the ladies choir.

Pallbearers were her grandsons. Walter Funeral Home of Ute was in charge of arrangements.
