Florence E. Meadows, 80, of Ute died Tuesday, January 5, 1993 at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, IA.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 8, 1993 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute with the Rev. Edgar Bode officiating. Burial was in the St. Clair Cemetery.

Mrs. Meadows was born June 10, 1912, in Charter Oak, the daughter of George and Anna (Neddermeyer) Reimer. She attended parochial school in Charter Oak. On September 13, 1928, she married Allen Meadows in Denison. The couple lived in the Ute, Soldier, and Onawa areas. In 1942, they moved east of Soldier. In 1949, they moved to Ute. She worked for Soldier Valley Telephone Co. in Ute for several years and was a nurses aide in Denison for four years. Mr. Meadows died September 24, 1984. She entered the nursing home in 1989.

Mrs. Meadows was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: two sons and their wives, Norman and Eileen of Ute and Burdette and Carol of Charter Oak; a daughter and her husband, Marilyn and DuWayne Meseck of Ute; a sister and her husband, Mabel and Launie Meadows of Onawa; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Royce; two brothers; one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
