Arthur W. Meadows, age 45 years died Sunday afternoon, October 8 at the Veterans Hospital Omaha, Nebr. where he had been a patient since June of this year. He was born December 23, 1915 at Moorhead, Ia. and lived in the Moorehead and Soldier counties almost all his life.

He had been a resident of Onawa since last spring when due to ill health he retired from farming.

He was the son of Edward and Minnie Meadows.

On March 14, 1946 he was united in marriage to Katherine Bellis at Dakota City, Nebr.

Mr. Meadows served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Soldier American Legion Post No. 462. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Onawa.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine, one daughter, Arlene and three sons, Willard, Roger and Charles all at home. His mother, Mrs. Minnie Meadows, one brother, Wilmer Meadow and two sisters, Mrs. Leona Bellis and Mrs. Ethelene Bellis, all of Onawa. A number of other relatives and a host t of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward, and a brother, Everett.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 11 at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor John Carlsson officiated at the services.

Mrs. Martin Evenson sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied at the organ by Miss Agnes Johnson.

The casket bearers were Gordon Clemon, Gale and Bryce Lee, Norman Meadows, Duane Messenbrink and Ronnie Meadows.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
