Jerry Lee Jenkins, 40, of Onawa, Iowa, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Jerry was born March 25, 1958, in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Lowell and Norma (Wagner) Jenkins. He attended school at West Monona until the 11th grade. He later received his GED diploma from Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City. He also received a diploma from Western Iowa Tech for having
completed an auto mechanics course. He held various jobs including a truck driver, a park worker, and the last job he held was as a gas station attendant at the Onawa Country Store.

He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He was an avid ham radio operator and was a member of the Boyer Valley Amateur Radio Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Cinthia Lynette Jenkins; his mother, Norma of Onawa; 2 sisters and their husbands, Bonnie and Larry LaBrune of Smithland, Iowa, and Rebecca and Roland Heisterkamp of Onawa; 1 brother, James Jenkins in Sioux City; 3 nephews, Tony LaBrune and Joseph and William Heisterkamp; and 1 niece, Kris Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Louis Wagner, Orville Ravnsborg, and Elsie Nelson Wagner Ravnsborg; and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Lethabelle Cummins Jenkins.

A Prayer Service was held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 1999, at the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.

A Memorial Graveside Service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 1999, at the Harrison Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa, with Rev. Steven C. Hetzel officiating.

Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa, with arrangement by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
