OBITUARY OF LAURA M. HARDING

Laura Marie Harding, 66 of Whiting died Tuesday, December 9, 1997 at Marion Health Center in Sioux City following an extended illness of cancer.

She was born on April 4, 1931, in Blencoe (Pickle City) Iowa the daughter of Hiram "Pop" and Lenore (Holten) Allen. She attended Onawa High School and married Leonard Harding on January 17, 1948 at the Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa. The couple made their home at Whiting until 1977 when they moved to Washington and Montana. Laura was employed at Iowa Beef Processing and Zenith Corporation for several years before her retirement. The couple returned to Whiting in 1995.

She was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Whiting. Laura enjoyed being a homemaker all her life. She lived for her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting duck and geese memorabilia, garage sales and most of all dedicating her life to her family.

Survivors include her husband Leonard of Whiting; one son and his wife, Danny and Christine of Burlington, Washington; one daughter and her husband, Leanne and Daryl Brunson of Whiting; three grandchildren, Billie and Beth McKinney and Misty Harding all of Whiting; five brothers, Arthur of Wellman, Iowa, John and his wife Dorothy of Dextor, Oregon, Lloyd and his wife Pat of Kelso, Washington, Joseph "Bud" and his wife Mary of Soldier, Iowa, Everett and his wife Nancy of Onawa; four sisters, Evelyn Campbell of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Celia Holverson of Whiting; Iowa, Jessie Allen of Sioux City, Iowa, Amy and her husband Niles Pierce of Burlington, Washington, there are sevea1 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jack, George and Davey and three sisters LaVera Olsen, Viola Selby and Esther Gregg.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 1997, at the Christian Church, Whiting, Iowa, with Shawn Walden, Minister, officiating.

The organist was Mrs. Dan Neldeberg and the soloist, Mrs. Shawn Walden, sang "Amazing Grace". Taped selections were "Kiss an Angel Good Morning" and "For Ever and Ever, Amen".

Casket bearers were Bud Allen, Jr., Lance Eastman, Mike McKinney, Butch Harding, Terry Johnson, and Lyle Harding.

Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
