OBITUARY OF MRS. DARRELL (JAN) SORENSON

Jan Sorenson, 57, Onawa, Iowa, died at her residence on Sunday, November 16, 1997.

She was born August 25, 1940, at Onawa, the daughter of Harold and Isabel (Nicholson) Langren. She was a lifelong resident of the Whiting and Onawa area. She graduated from Whiting High School in 1958. On April 16, 1961, she married Darrell L. Sorenson in the Congregational Church in Whiting. She had been employed by the John Holmes Publishing Company with the Salvage Locator in Whiting. She was a good mother to her family.

She was a member of the Congregational Church at Whiting and the Drifters Dance Club.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell, of Onawa; a daughter and her husband, Michelle and Gordon
Olberding of Washington, Iowa; a son and his wife, Mike and Carolyn Sorenson of Castana, Iowa; grandchildren, Steve, Stacia and Skyler; and a sister, Diana Hilton of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Jennifer.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 1997, at the First Congregational Church at Whiting, Iowa, with Rev. Patricia G. Minnick officiating. A duet, pianist Mrs. Robed Haack and organist Mrs. Don MacClure, played the selection "Love Without End, Amen".

Casket bearers were Rick Bowen, John Holmes, Jim Anderson, Dan Church, Mick Harris, and Tom Sorenson.

Interment was in Harrison Cemetery at Whiting with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
