Hornick, Iowa-- Harold Thomas Oldis, 83, of Baker, Montana, formerly of Hornick, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, following a lengthy illness.

Services were Tuesday in Baker. Burial was Thursday in the Harrison Cemetery at Whiting, Iowa. Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa was in charge of area arrangements.

Mr. Oldis was born May 14, 1913, on his parents homestead at Sentinel Butte, N.D., to Thomas and Gladys (Kholer). He graduated from eighth grade at the Golden Valley Public School. He married Veva O. Schrader on Jan. 18, 1933, at her parents home in O11ie, Mont. They lived on a farm near Alpha, N.D., then moved to Sentinel Butte in 1936. They had three daughters during that time.

They moved to farm in Iowa in 1937, and later operated the Standard Oil Station and Garage in Hornick. He married Elmira A. Davison on Sept. 19, 1948, at Sioux Falls, S.D. They lived in Hornick; Seattle, Wash.; Kent, Wash.; and Yelm, Wash. He worked as a fleet mechanic for Boeing until he was disabled. He married Beatrice Adams on Dec. 12, 1977, at Seattle. They lived at Yelm. Due to failing health, he moved to Baker, Mont. in May 1996, and resided in the Wibaux Nursing Home. He later lived with his grandson, Rick and Debi Wiman. He belonged to the International Association of Machinist and
Aerospace Workers.

Survivors include his wife of Yelm; two daughters, Patricia Wiman of Baker, Jean Stanhope of Thermopolis, Wyo.; eight grandchildren, Rick, Kay Wiman, Shirley Eller, Fay Swenson, Jerry, Tom Stanhope, Lona Bruha, and Dona Cramer; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deloris Gladys in 1934; his first two wives; his parents; a sister, Ruth Huggett; and a brother, Alfred.

Pallbearers were the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
