MARGUARITE WORRELL CROKER MAYNE

Marguarite Mayne,93, of Denver, Colorado, died July 19, 1990 in Englewood, Colorado.She was born January 9, 1897 in West Liberty, Iowa. She was a retired elementary school teacher, who was educated at Northern Iowa University in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

She was a member of the Congregational Church, Eastern Star, Portland Women's Lecture Club, Woodburn Senior Estates, ladies group, social activities, Ladies Organ Music Group, Ladies Knitting Group and Ladies Golf Group.

Survivors include a son, George R. Croker of Aberdeen, Washington; a daughter, Kathryn Croker Anderman of Denver, Colorado; and a step-daughter, Avis Mayne Patterson, of Dexter, Iowa; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She moved from West Liberty to Whiting with her parents and brother, Harold, where her father, farmed the Peabody homestead.

In 1920, she married William Whiting Croker, they had three children, George, Louise and Kathryn. Louise and William died in 1928. She taught school in Whiting for 11 years. In 1939 she married Arthur H. Mayne, they were married 31 years until his death. She had lived in Iowa, Virginia, Edmontan, Alberta and 43 years in Oregon.

She resided in Denver for the past 3-1/2 years until her death.

Funeral services were held July 30, 1990 at the Congregational Church in Whiting, Iowa. The Rev. James Stroh officiating. The body was cremated.
