Clarence J. "Butch" Nikolaison, 64, Blencoe, Iowa, died Saturday, August 1, 1998, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 30, 1934, in rural Blencoe, Iowa, the son of Clarence L. and Ruby (Cartmill) Nikolaison. He attended the Blencoe school, graduating in 1954. He had spent his entire lifetime in the Blencoe area. He engaged in farming. He was formerly married to Edna "Todd" Poole.

Butch entered Pleasant View Nursing Home in Whiting in 1995.

He had been a member of the First Christian Church in Onawa and was currently a member of the Church of Christ in Whiting.

Survivors are two nephews, Tom Kuehl of Des Moines, Iowa, and Steven Kuehl and his wife, Connie of Phoenix City, Alabama; one niece, Kathie and her husband Dale Hagge of Littleton, Colorado and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Darlene Kuehl, and a brother-in-law, Donald Kuehl, Jr.

Funeral Services were held at 11;00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 1998, at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Donald R. Ludwick and Shawn Walden, Minister, officiating. The organist was Mrs. Irvin Frisk and the soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson, sang the selections, "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace'.

Honorary Bearers were Kathy Smith, Suzie Brink, Linda Walker, Mary Lander and Pete Cauchy.

Casket Bearers were Ed Collison, Ed Osius, Roger Brink, Richard Poole, Ron Cutler, and Skip Cartmill.

Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
