MARCUS; Iowa — Ann Neuenfeld, 85, of Marcus died Sunday, May 3, 1998, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Earnest and Roethler Funeral Chapel in Marcus, with the Rev. Richard Remmes officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe, Iowa. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Neuenfeld was born June 15, 1912, near Clarkson, Neb., the daughter of George and Anna (Walla) Hermes. She attended grade school and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1931.

She married George Neuenfeld on Aug. 7, 1943, in Schuyler, Neb. The couple traveled around Nebraska and Kansas doing construction work until 1961, when they moved to Marcus. He died Oct. 22, 1975.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress. She entered Heartland Care Center in February 1998.

She was a member of the Marcus Senior Citizen Group.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Helen Hermes of Leigh, Neb., and a nephew, Albert Hermes of Leigh.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.
