Lucy E. Perry, age 86, of Mondamin, Iowa died Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at the Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley. Lucy was born May 3, 1913 in Magnolia, Iowa to Nealy and Elizabeth Wakehouse) McHugh. She graduated from the Magnolia High School and then attended Cedar Falls College where she obtained her teaching certificate. Lucy taught school for several years. She was married to Kenrieth Perry, May 29, 1937 and Kenneth passed away in 1973. Lucy was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mondamin, Iowa. Lucy loved her family and she enjoyed playing cards, music and dancing. She loved to cook, make pies and home-made chicken and noodles.

Survivors include her children: JoAnn Hodgson and husband Tom of Mondamin, Iowa; Judy Jennings and husband Jerry of Omaha, Nebraska; Patrick Perry and wife Susan of Mondamin, Iowa; sisters: Theresa Topf of Charter Oak, Iowa; Alicia Mahoney of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Cleta McHugh of Denison, Iowa; Mable Harris of Blain, Nebraska; brother: Clifford McHugh of Onawa, Iowa; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, son Billy J. Perry, sister Mildred Paseka, brother Lawrence McHugh.

A Wake Service was held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, June 12, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Mondamin, Iowa. Father John Harmon was Celebrant. The musicians were Sharon Shelton, Organist and Leone Herman, Vocalist; the songs shared were "On Eagle's Wings" and "How Great Thou 'Art".

Casket Bearers were Ken Perry, John Frisk, Jeff Jennings, David Perry, Jim Jennings, Tim Hodgson and Heath Hodgson.

Interment was in the Blencoe Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa.
