Donald L. Poole, 83 of Turin, Iowa, died Friday, April 18, 1997, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

Mr. Poole was born on May 19, 1913, in Little Sioux Township rural Blencoe, Iowa, the son of Earl an Nona Lavada (Anderson) Poole. He attended country school in rural Blencoe and Little Sioux High School. He married Agnes Wallace on October 26, 1936 at Glenwood, Iowa. The couple farmed in Monona County until his retirement in 1963.

Survivors include his wife of Turin, two sons, David and his wife, Sharon of Turin and Richard of Moorhead; two daughters, Joy Hamman of Dunlap and Edna Ann Nikolaison of Turin; one sister, Mrs. Helen Mattson of Duluth, Minnesota; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and an infant brother Ronald Clarence.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 22, 1997, at the Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Steven C. Hetzel officiating. The pianist, Mrs. Syril Brown, played "In The Garden" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and pianist, Mr. Eugene Hamman played "Bring Them In" and "Lord, I'm Coming Home".

Casket Bearers were Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
