Brian Peter Marley, 28, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Blencoe, Iowa, died Sunday, January 31, 1999, in Houston as the result of a car accident.

Brian was born May 7, 1970, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of John and Alice (Zimmerman) Marley. In 1988 he graduated from South Sioux City High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

He had been a resident of Houston for over a year where he was in sales and finance with Carmax.

He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Blencoe and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his parents, John and Alice Marley of Blencoe; one sister, Cpl. Laura Marley of Twentynine Palms, California; one brother, Joel Marley of Blencoe; his maternal grandmother and her husband, Mary and LeRoy Hanson of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; and his maternal great-grandmother, Ann Juneman of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Adam Marley; his maternal grandfather, Dr. Raymond Zimmerman; and his paternal grandparents,
Maurice and Catherine Marley.

Rosary Service was at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa with the Knights of Columbus reciting the Rosary. Celeste Zimmerman was the Organist.

A Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 1999, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church at Blencoe, Iowa with Father A.E. McCoy and Father Dale George as Con-Celebrants. The Canton was Sheila Coyle, the vocalist was Gretchen Seitzinger and the accompanist was Mary Ann Lage. Music selections were "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling", "Like A Shepherd", "Set Me Like A Seal On Your Heart" and "0 Danny Boy".

Tributes for Brian were given by his Godmother, Benita Doohen and Godchild, Ann Doohen.

Honorary Bearers were Frank Vogelzang, Benny Nguyn, Rod Decandittas, Mike Marley, Jim Simmons, Cory Baker, Jeff Hackbart, Mike Koebernick and Larry Ringgenberg.

Casket Bearers were Jimmy Whitney, Bob Walker, Mike Lage, Neal Benally, Ryan Wilhelm and Mike Barrett.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
