Berniece B. Maynard, age 74, of Mapleton, died Friday, October 27 1989, at her home in Mapleton after a short illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton with the Rev. Les Kimball officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation was after 2:00 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.

The former Berniece Babbe was born July 9, 1915, to Clement and Anna (Rohde) Babbe at Mapleton. She married Arvin Maynard September 11, 1945, at San Francisco. He died January 26, 1982. She had lived most of her life in the Mapleton community. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Bible Study Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Norman and Jodi Maynard of Las Vegas; two daughters and their husbands, Lin and Darrell Scott of Danbury and Kay and David Koenigs of Mapleton; a sister, Mildred King of Mapleton; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Gilbert Babbe, Arvin Kafton, Gene Vanderbur, Martin Buss, Ray Else and Bob Jacobson.
