HEART AILMENT TAKES LIFE OF A. W. MAXWELL

Alexander W. Maxwell, long time resident of Blencoe succumbed to a long time heart ailment last Friday at his home in Blencoe. He passed away on the forty first anniversary of his wedding.

Mr. Maxwell had returned from an Omaha hospital about a month ago where, physicians had diagnosed his trouble and reported little chances of recovery.

On Friday afternoon he went for a ride with his grandson Elex Stanton and upon returning lay down on a cot to rest. He apparently passed away in his sleep.

Mr. Maxwell was the eldest son of Mrs. Mary Collins, and was born near Winterset, Iowa, July 21, 1865 where he lived until he was about 7 year old. He then moved to Harrison county and grew to young man-hood in this vicinity.

He was united in marriage to Olive Ray on June 4, 1885. To this union, four children were born, one daughter, and three sons. They are Mrs. Fred Stanton, Ray, Dale and William.

Besides his mother, he is survived by two sisters; Mrs. A. Welch of Byers, Colo.; Mrs. James L. Johnston of Blencoe, a brother Ambury Collins of Valley, Nebr. They are also sixteen grand children and four great-grandchildren.

"Our darling grandfather from us has gone;
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our homes
Which never can he filled
Although we miss him in our homes
And the path that he has trod
We know that he is safe in heaven
Resting with our God."

Funeral services were held from the Congregational church Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev M. P. Jones and Rev G. H Croker. Burial was made in the Onawa cemetery.
