Alice M. Knutson, 94, of Sioux City died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Township Cemetery, Ute, Iowa.

Mrs. Knutson was born Oct. 21, 1905, in Ute, the daughter of Issac and Lydia (Howland) Strait. She was raised in the Ute area and attended public schools in the Ute area.

She married Roy K. Knutson in December 1926. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1941. He died Aug. 9, 1968, in Sioux City.

She was employed as a secretary with AA for many years and was a homemaker.

She was of the Christian faith and a member of ALANON.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty McCormack and Phyllis and her husband, Leon John, all of Sioux City; four sons, Lyle, Raymond and his wife, Lucille, and Richard and his wife, Donna, all of Sioux City, and Harold and his wife, Irene, of Sebring, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Jr.; four sisters, Effie, Mamie, Mabel and Ruth; five brothers, Dow, Rollie, Albert, Vick and William; a grandson, Stanley Knutson; a granddaughter, Patty; and an infant granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Terry and Lenny Jolin, Jay Wickey and Donald Putzier.
